Hey Church, our word for this week comes to us from the apostle Paul in his letter to the church in Ephesus once again. Ephesians 1:18 says
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened (opened) in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.”
I want to talk to you a little today about the “eyes of our hearts” being opened. When we ask God to help us see things and especially people through His eyes, by the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we begin to see things in a different light. When we come to the realization that God loved and loves and will love “all” people so much that he sent his only son Jesus to die to pay the price for “their” and “our” sins then it may just become a little easier for us to “love” those people and maybe even put their needs and interests above our own, even as Jesus did for us to a far greater extent. I want to encourage you today that those people in your life that you may have conflict or disagreement with or who may not believe the same way or same things you believe in or that you just don’t get along with, to pray for them and to ask God by the power of His Spirit to help you see them through His eyes. As Paul also says in Ephesians 4: 2-3
“Be completely humble and gentle, be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”
