Hey church, our word for this week comes to us from the prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 40:12.
“Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens. Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance.”
I want to talk to you a little today about this God who created our earth and everything on it, our galaxy and even the entire vastness of the universe and all that is in existence. We talked in Sunday School today about how “our God” is God beyond compare who know all things and has authority over all things and controls all things. It’s amazing to me that this God who is the author of all things in all the vastness of the universe knows my name and knows your name. Think about that, he knows you by name! And God loves each of us so much that he sent Jesus, his son, to live and die for us that we might be brought back into right standing with him, that even though we’re human and still have human “thoughts” and stumble and fall to sin at times we will be able to one day stand as righteous (sinless) before him by accepting that gift from him. I want to encourage you today to get to know that God better by seeking relationship with him through prayer, bible study, spending time in his creation and fellowship with other Christians. And also, by waiting on (listening) that “still small” voice of the Holy Spirit to teach and guide you in your life. As it also says in Isaiah 40:3.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
God Bless
